Fantômas - The Director's Cut (2001)

This album is easily one of the best albums I have heard in quite a while. Here, they make avant-garde versions of movie theme songs. Their most notable work is their version of The Godfather. When I first heard it, it was one of the funniest things I've ever heard, but now it is one of the best songs I have ever heard.

Black Milk Discography

This is one of the most consistent rappers I have ever heard. The lowest rating I gave to an album from him was 2.5/5, which means mediocre, but doesn't mean it's bad. The album Tronic is constantly growing on me and may be one of the best hip hop albums I have ever heard. Albums are sorted from the best album being at the top, to the worst album being at the bottom. Note: He wins for loving Gentle Giant. =D

Mental Home - Upon the Shores of Inner Seas (2000)

Brilliant Melodic Death Doom metal from Russia. I prefer Black Art over this but both are great.

Mental Home - Black Art (1999)

Emeralds - The Overlook (2009)

Have some drone. :)

Squarepusher - Numbers Lucent (2009)

One of the best albums of 09, and certainly the best EP.

Atheist - Unquestionable Presence (1991)

If you aren't familiar with this album, get acquainted. This is probably the best Technical Death Metal album I've heard, and contains some Jazz Fusion elements. Remastered version BTW.

Scenery - The Drowning Shadows of Mankind (1997)

Almost as good as Atheist. I think any fan of the band should check these guys out. They deserve a lot more attention than they've gotten.

Gavin Bryars - The Sinking of the Titanic (1975)

Great minimalism/classical. I <3 this album.

Clotted Symmetric Sexual Organ - Are You Excrements? (2001)

Experimental Japanese Grindcore with stoner/jazz/punk/blues/noise interludes and influences. Fantastic stuff, and it's not blast beating 24/7 like most grindcore.

Neuma - Weather (2006)

This is another polish album. Sludge Metal with awesome bass and free-jazz sax solos. Awesome stuff!

NES-BM

R6.3zist - Liquid Fear (2007)

This is pretty much one of the only good techno albums out there. However, I consider this to be more power noise than techno (Power noise is basically rhythmic noise). This only has 3 ratings on RYM so this is something that practically no one has listened to.

Synestesia - Feeniks (2009)

The 2nd best album of '09, right behind the new maudlin of the Well album. This is melodic death metal at its best.

Load it down!

Le Scrawl - Whisky a GO GO (2008)

This EP is the best five minutes of your life; if only it was longer. This is jazz with a growling vocalist.

Load it down!

Peter Broderick - Home (2008)

Best album of 2008. Just like Elliott Smith and Nick Drake, this is also an album made by only a man with his acoustic guitar. This is just as beautiful.

Load it down!

Terry Scott Taylor - Neverhood Songs (1996)

This is my favorite video game OST. Ignore Final Fantasy and Zelda ones, this one is amazing!

Load it down!

20.SV - Acid Vomit (2005)

Another dark ambient album, except this one is an EP. This was banned in Lebanon and was considered terror music there. The final song Disfigured Children.Radioactive Generation is one of the most unsettling songs I have ever heard.

Diagnose: Lebensgefahr - Transformalin

First, I want to explain how about the mystery of the musician here. He is also the singer for the band Silencer, which had amazing instrumentals but his singing completely ruined it. Apparently, during the recording of Silencer, he cut off his hands and replaced them with pig trotters. He was then sent to institution, and they decided that for his rehabilitation, he should record an album. This is the album. I must say that this album is awesome, and it is probably the scariest album I've ever hear. Listen to this album in the night on your own, and you'll be freaked out. It's basically like Nine Inch Nails if he was mentally insane. I don't know if he actually is insane, or if he's faking all of this, but either way it's an awesome album.

Martial Industrial that is once again made from my country. The first half is... okay, but the second half is awesome!

Czesław Niemen - Enigmatic (1969)

This is know as the greatest progressive rock album from my country (Poland), and I must agree with them. The best thing about this album are the lyrics. However, this is in the polish language, so odds are that you won't understand what his songs are about. Other than that, this is still an amazing album!

Shoegaze meets Doom Metal in this fantastic EP from Jesu.

Smorzando - Smrad (2008)

Lo-fi black metal at its best. Remember, also rate it at rateyourmusic.com, for this album deserves more than 6 ratings.
